Yes. We’re happy to accept new patients, as well as referrals and recommendations from patients to their family and friends.
You may request that patient registration and health history forms be sent to you ahead of time, so you may complete them prior to the first visit to save you time when you arrive. We also appreciate recent records and/or x-rays (if appropriate) forwarded to our office, though they are not always needed. If requesting dental records, we appreciate patients contacting the previous dentist directly, in case a signed release form is required by that dental office.
Although we don't contract with any insurance or PPO plans, we are happy to file your dental claim for you to maximize the benefits due you. Feel free to call us with questions, though for questions specific to your dental policy, we recommend checking with your company’s insurance person.
We accept cash, personal checks, and Mastercard, Visa, and Discover credit cards, as well as offering Care Credit financing. We are happy to discuss these options with you further at the time of treatment planning.
Dr. O'Neil subscribes to and reads from a number of dental journals, and he takes time away from the office on a regular basis for continuing education courses and seminars.
Although we send reminder cards and make confirmation calls ahead of time, we recognize anyone can get busy with work and family at the last minute and forget an appointment.
We appreciate a two-day notice if you're unable to keep the appointment. This allows us to offer the time slot to someone else and helps us run the office more efficiently with reduced costs. We almost never charge for missed visits, but if “no-shows” or last-minute cancellations occur again or frequently, we may change how we schedule an appointment for you or let you know that we will need to charge a missed appointment fee in order to schedule future appointments.
In case of a dental emergency, please contact our office and let us know the nature of your condition. We’ll return your call right away, give you helpful information over the phone, then determine if you need to be seen immediately.
If Dr. O'Neil knows he will not be available for emergencies during a particular period of time, he makes arrangements in advance with a dental colleague or two in the community who will be available. Please call our office for the name and phone number of those dentists.
In the rare event you still have trouble locating one of these dentists, you may try contacting another local dentist. If still unsuccessful, you may consider the emergency room in Nebraska City or your local hospital.
